Ms. San Francisco Leather Contest
|
Ms. San Francisco Leather ContestI had been considering running for Ms. San Francisco Leather since the re-introduction of the title was announced. My thought was that this is a comeback year for me, why not run for a title that's coming back? But, on the flip side, I wasn't sure I was ready and that maybe next year I'd be a better candidate. In other words, I was waffling. At the September Exiles program, I sat next to Jody and Liza, the title owners. After a short conversation with Jody, she convinced me to get off the fence and run. I spoke with the contestant coordinator, DJ, that night and she had some great advice on how to get started. Now I'm off and running! SponsorsPenthouse / Alt.com has sponsored me, and donated lots of great items (including porn!) for the silent auction basket. Additionally, Good Vibrations has pledged support! The awesome folks from Good Vibes are donating fun items for my auction basket. For anyone not familiar, it's a friendly, low-pressure, well-lighted toy store with great staff. They have an excellent selection of books and toys, plus one of the widest offerings of lubes and safer sex supplies I've ever seen. How fun is all that? Edges is also behind me! They are one of the largest pansexual playspaces in the country, and oh what a space. Edges contributed a gift certificate that allows the bearer to bring a friend to their women's play lab and women's rope labs for free for a whole year. Educational, and hot! Also, Rich of Rich Trove gave me free use of images on his site to support my run. Fantabulous! SupportersAlso Mr. S / Madame S allowed me to purchase items to help with my outfits for the event at a very deep discount. Their manager, Jonathan, said that this is the way they help contestants look their best. What a great help! Plus, the great folks at Leather Etc. are also allowing me to purchase an item for the gift basket at a deep discount. A really nice offer! Contest PreparationsThe afternoon and evening of the contest, I'll be doing a bunch of interviews and a performance. Think of a kinky Miss America pageant and you're close. Narrowing down the field of things to wear and possible performances has been tough, but I think I'm getting there. I'm updating my blog with more detailed information. We also need to prepare a basket to be auctioned off the night of the contest. From the beginning I had a very clear vision of what I'd do--a basket with homemade goodies. I'm lining the basket with a crocheted doily that I'm making myself. I'll also be putting a bunch of my homemade chocolates in the basket, as well as a selection of other pastries. I may even throw in some of my homemade jam. I'm hoping to get gift certificates or goodies from sponsors to add to the basket to round it out. |
